The Mystery of Contentment

In a world where having more possessions is often portrayed as essential to contentment, it’s easy to lose sight of what brings lasting contentment.

Charles Schultz, through the voice of Charlie Brown, suggests a path to contentment with his Christmas wish.  “Dear Santa, I already have everything I could possibly wish for this year.  Got my family, good friends, and LOVE.  Please take care of those that need you. THANK YOU.”

Contentment comes from the joy of a journey blessed with feelings of gratefulness for today and a realization that each day is a new opportunity.

Finding contentment isn’t about being content with your situation and never trying to improve it.  It’s a matter of being grateful for what you have while looking to the journey ahead with expectation and hope.
